Licorice, root vegetables and plenty of toasty oak sweetness on the nose are joined by wild cherry, rhubarb, pencil lead and a fair veneer of spicy oak and vanilla. This is softer on the palate with round tannins in an easy drinking style. It delivers plenty of black cherry, black currant fruit, a little vein of black spice and herb. Smooth and polished, it shifts to more of a black berry flavor on the back end and long finish, with acidity and wood tannin becoming more obvious. 88pts

This is a very deeply, darkly colored wine. Like a really dried-out blood-black color. Very rich blackberry nose, vanilla, also some mint and clove on the nose. This is the nose I expect from a great 2004 vintage Rioja. Spice box in spades here. Blackberry note is very nice and authentic tasting. Oak is right where I expect for a Reserva, adding richness and vanilla/woody flavors, but I am very pleased with it working well with the fruit, as opposed to obscuring it. 4 of 5 is my score, this is a strong producer in a strong vintage, and at $14 I recommend it.
Softer than most Tempranillos. This is ready to drink now. Dirty fruit on the nose. Could probably have used some cheese to balance out the tannin.
Dark, dried blood hue, with dried black fruit, smoke and black tea nose; silky flavor notes of dusty dried black cherries and dried black plums with broad, silky tannins and a moderately long finish.
Beautiful Color and initial Nose that screams Old World Rioja. Slightly smoky spice and cedar gives way to fruity grapes. Taste bursts with smooth leather, spice, a little wood finally giving way to berries with nice final burst of a little acidity. Finish is moderately long but not overpowering. Works on its own or with food and has at least a few years of aging potential. I really like this wine both on its own merits but also for the price.
Full-bodied, smooth and silky! Great finish. Good with cheeses or even better with steak.
One of the best temprinillo I have enjoyed. Came by it quite by accident and am now looking for more.

Displays an enticing perfume of wood smoke, spice box, violets, espresso, and blackberry. Voluminous and concentrated on the palate, it reflects the high quality of the vintage.
A silky texture carries expressive flavors of black plum, violet, licorice and smoke in this focused, balanced red. Has good intensity yet remains vibrant and accessible. Drink now through 2012.
Farbe: Mittleres Granatrot. Bukett: Intensiv, nach reifen Früchten, Kirschen, Kakao und Würznoten, Zedernholz. Gaumen: Sanfter Auftakt mit weichem Schmelz und viel Eleganz. Schwarze Kirschen, Würze. Sanfte Kraft und ausgewogener Balance. Abgang: Lang, balsamisch, Schokolade. Fazit: Langlebiger, eher traditioneller Rioja.
