Bodegas Julián Chivite Tempranillo Blend Navarra Reserva Coleccion 125 1994

Member Review by cookypuss1:

Had this yesterday with some spanish chorizo fideos and spanish cheeses. Wasn't sure what to expect out of this 1994, but it didn't disappoint! Decanted for 1+ hours, which revealed more of the fruit. Was surprisingly chewy with a nice long finish. Despite the unattractive brown color, was a very enjoyable wine!

Decanted 2-3 hours. Black color with a reddish brown rim, a little hot with notes of creamy strawberries and dust on the nose, smooth, medium body with bright notes of cherry, vanilla and black pepper, a nice finish full of black pepper and stonefruit with hints of oak. A beautiful and austere wine enjoyed with a pan-roasted Newport steak and garlic butter and herb noodles.
