Ridiculous name, great wine. Fragrant, with smoke/oak notes and cherry/banana aromas. Plum/cherry palate with mild acidity, very soft tannins and medium body and finish. Tastes more like a Pinot Noir than the other Monastrells that I've tried.

The color of the wine is dark but still red. The nose is meaty and smoky like a bag of peppery beef jerky. The palate is beautiful concentrated dried dark cherries and a touch of vanilla with great weight and nice structured medium tannins which finishes long. I had the wine after decanting for two hours. I suspect the wine would open up and mellow after a few short years cellared.

Very nice affordable monastrell. It had a great smoky/bacon fat aroma and good flavors of cherry/tobacco. It does drink like a pinot.

Juicy berry, not too dry. Great value.
