Food Pairings for Bodegas Hidalgo Manzanilla la Gitana
Great Sherry wine that has a sea and almond taste to it. Reminds me of sitting on the beach and being sprayed with the sea water breaking on the shore. Wonderful wine that would go great with many fish dishes!

Evocative of the sunny Spanish seaside, La Gitana is the quintessential Manzanilla: tangy, salty and delicately complex.
Dry and refreshing, with apple, straw and nutty flavors as underscored by a salty tanginess. Lightweight and balanced, this is very appealing. Break out the almonds and olives. Drink now.
Lemon zest, petrol, sea salt. Beautifully aromatic, with an ephemeral character that seems forceful yet remains light on its feet. Quite snappy in the mouth with excellent bite and a thoroughly cleansing finish. Classic.
Nutty, honeyed, Resinous aromas and flavors are followed by a round, medium- to full-bodied structure. it shows good intensity, and a walnut note kicks in on the finish. Drink now.
Consistently one of the finest traditional manzanillas youandrsquo;ll ever taste, La Gitana might as well be the Websterandrsquo;s entry for the category; pale straw color, salty seaside freshness and a dry, tangy, yet rich flavor. And that flavor lingers after each sip, too, like sea spray.
This pale Sherry is the color of light white wine, redolent with scents of crushed almonds, dried apricots and springtime freshness. What a refreshing change from the heavier, sweet styles of Sherry that we are accustomed to having in the States — this is delicate, refreshing and dry, with a crisp finish that leaves your mouth watering. This wine is versatile with tapas, or serve it on its own as an apéritif. Serve chilled.
`Very rich almost painfully intense wine pungent freshness and great subtlety. Incredibly long aftertaste features a hint of almond skin an intense fruitiness and the tang of the sea. Perhaps the perfect apertif.`-International Wine Cellar
