Bodegas Faustino Rioja VII 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

Colour: Lively red with ochre hues, reminiscent of a vine leaf in autumn. Aroma: Very well defined, beautifully combining the vanilla from the oak with the freshness of the grapes. Palate: Excellent balance in the mouth, velvety and elegant, with very intense, persistent finish.

Flavors of cherry, tobacco and light earth remain harmonious through the spicy finish in this polished red. Moderate tannins and balsamic acidity impart balance. A traditional style. Drink now through 2017.

Lively red, shading to ochre. Hint of vanilla and ripe red berry fruit. Well-balanced, velvety, elegant.

Bright ruby. Earthy, smoke- and herb-accented aromas of redcurrant, cherry pit and cured meat. Then plump and juicy in the mouth, with tangy red fruit flavors showing a slightly bitter, medicinal quality. Silky tannins give shape to the finish, with the redcurrant and meaty notes repeating. On the rustic side, in a good way; fans of old-school Rioja should check it out.
