Emilio Moro, the founder of Bodegas Emilio Moro, was born in Pesquera de Duero, a wine area of time-honoured traditions, where some of the flagship wines of the Ribera del Duero appellation are now produced. It was in this year that the winerys first vineyard, Finca Resalso, was planted.

Opened and drank an '05 in April '10. It was very refined, at what I would consider a near perfect age. Wonderful deep purple color, smooth, fruity palate, with a leathery, spicy finish that lingered with just the right amount of dryness. Paired with spaghetti.
Love this stuff. I found it to be dense and chewy, definitely full bodied. Drank it without food, no problem. Definitely drink again. I enjoyed it more than Villacreces.
Notes of oak and dark berries. For a fine evening and a delightful memory, allow this one to breath for a bit before drinking.

Wine Advocate ReviewThe 2004 Malleolus de Sancho Martin comes from a single vineyard planted in 1964. It was aged for 22 months in new French oak. Even more expressive aromatically, it offers a beautiful perfume of spice box, vanilla, lead pencil, red and black currants and blackberry liqueur. Sweet, supple, and layered on the palate, it has terrific concentration and balance. Give this superb effort 6-8 years of cellaring and drink it through 2032.
