Bodegas El Nido Red Blend Jumilla Clio 2005

Member Review by Natalie Kronick:

As soon as I took my first whiff, it was instant heaven! It’s got quite the bouquet of jammy fruit, some violets and the oak is to die for. Clearly a wine from Spain. I mean, you can smell the earth and in fact, I think I picked up a little bit of truffle on the nose with such a lovely sweet oaky (french) background. It’s RICH! I took the first sip which brings a lot of blueberry, some chocolate notes, dark current and oak, again on the finish. It is a very nicely balanced wine. Although, letting it decant helped to smooth out some of the alcohol at the beginning. But the most impressive thing I found about this wine was the finish. It lingers like none other! Like a blackberry jam gets stuck to your tongue. Sticky and fruity! Expect to drink this SLOWLY. The finish lasted about a minute each sip. Black fruit, pencil lead nose. Soft, beautiful. Big flavor, elegant. Pencil lead. Long. $60

Awesome. Everytime I taste it I think that it will not taste as good as I think it tasted. But it does.

This wine is absolutely amazing. Very hard to find and when you do it is in very small quantities. It stands up next to some of the better CABs out there for a very reasonable price! Start looking for it!
