Bodegas del Palacio de Fefiñanes Albariño Rías Baixas 1583 2010
This white wine is made exclusively from the Albariño grape and is fermented in stainless steel vats and bottled in its first year. A pioneer amog the Rias Baixas wines, its classic presentation is a reflection of the elegance that, 100 years after in creaction, continues to set this prince of Albariños apart from other wines.
Wine is like people, in that the closer it comes t0 its roots, the closer it comes to its real identity. In Bodegas del Palacio dc Fefinanes we put this identity first and foremost. Our wines speak clearly of their landscape, their soil, with the fullness of a singular variety: the Albarino grape, as powerful and evocative as it is scarce. This is the fruit of our labours over the past hundred years and more. A tradition that is now part of our history.
great pear, apple nose....with a fruit filled palatte.....somewhat crisp finish
Very pretty, clear, straw-colored in the glass. Floral bouquet--honeysuckle. Quite light on the palate, some sort of melon going on. Very slight oak--very slight. Refreshing, but I would like to see a tad more acid tartness for what seems to be a summer wine. US$23.99 at Wine Club.
Bit more acidic than in recent vintages, but would be very refreshing with some seafood and/or salty dishes. Maybe fish and chips?
Love the crisp mineral flavors of the Albarino wines

Lightly effervescent and delicate golden color. The nose is a bit musty with some woody notes that I at first took for cork, but it may not be. On the palate it is mustier, and I'm starting to think this is a bad bottle. The finish sums it up, lightly corked, but just enough as to where it loses it's freshness.

The 2011 Albarino de Fefinanes has a light bouquet of green apple pear and fresh apricot that is well-defined. The palate is well- balanced fresh as a daisy on the entry with a nicely judged seam of citric acidity and a focused almost brittle finish that demonstrates immense clarity. Superb! Drink now-2017. -Neal Martin Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
One of our drier Albariños, this one has a mineral edge and floral peach aromas. This was absolutely made for shellfish and other light seafood dishes.

Fefiñanes has always been an Albariño of complexity with lees notes of vanilla and texture more evident than the bright and citrusy fruit character of most Albariños. The 2010 is no exception, but don’t think for a moment that the fruit has been sacrificed: the wine also shows peach, orange, lemon and even banana and mango hints.
