Winemaker's Notes:

The Castaño family has 410 hectares of vineyards in Yecla in south eastern Spain. They have steadily improved quality over the last few years and modernised their style. They symbolise the best of what southern Spain has to offer: rich, warm climate wines made from grapes grown at altitude and transformed into robustly modern wines. This blend of Monstrell and Cabernet has intense aromas of ripe blackberries and cranberries with liquorice and mineral notes and hints of toasty oak and spice. On the palate, the wine has good body, fresh acidity, excellent balance, supple, ripe tannins, and a persistent finish.
