Fruity, but not too sweet (sweeter nose than taste). Balanced tannins. Good for a party. Read more

User Reviews for Bodegas Campos Reales Tempranillo Blend la Mancha
Add your reviewFantastic. New-World style Tempranillo. Beautiful fruit forward wine with great balance, complexity and finish. Juicy acidity makes it a great match for many types of foods. We had it with mesquite grilled pork. This wine could easily go for two or three-times the price.
Hard to believe that Robert Parker gives this a 92. Definitely not deserved. It is a good wine and great value but hardly a great or fantastic wine. It is wine which still requires 3-5 more years to mature before drinking. Maybe then it might deserve the lofty rating given to it.
External Reviews for Bodegas Campos Reales Tempranillo Blend la Mancha
An excellent value from 30-year old Tempranillo vines, this tank-fermented and aged, medium-bodied 2003 is all fruit. Reminiscent of Beaujolais, it reveals hints of bubble gum, Kool Aid, strawberries, and cherries in a clean, fruity style. It could be served slightly chilled over the next 12-18 months.
Bright purple. Fresh red berries and candied cherry on the nose. Taut, focused dark berry flavors are complemented by notes of licorice and smoke, with no tannins to be found. Finishes slightly clenched, with an echo of dark berries. This is one serious bargain.

Bright, medium ruby-red. Slightly tanky, musky aromas of crushed dark berries. Juicy and nicely concentrated, with black raspberry, licorice and pepper flavors, along with a wild, gamey character and an exotic suggestion of banana.
Bright purple. Primary dark berry aromas are complicated by licorice, dried flowers and cured meat. Complex for this price point, offering deep blackberry and blueberry flavors and a firm, chewy texture. It's rare to find this seriousness at this price.
