Although the history of the city of Borja takes us back to the beginnings of the Paleolithic period, it wasn’t until the 4th century before Christ, in the heart of the Celtiberian period, when thanks to classical and numismatic written sources the name of this village came to light: Bursao. With the passing through Bursao of different civilizations like the Romans, Visigothic Hispania and the Muslims we have inherited architectural remains and above all, the natural inclination of its people towards agriculture and more particularly viniculture. Of equal importance was the implementation of artisanal techniques that today endure as living proof of the cultural richness of the former Bursao today known as Borja. During the I and II centuries, before our time, it used to mint bronze coins, ases and dividers as a symbol of its autonomy. On the obverse of the as we can see a celtiberian rider armed with a lance, riding on the writing of the name of the city in the native alphabet. The emblem adopted by the winery as a sign of identity. Read less

Wild berry nose with notes of leather and red licorice, and blueberry/floral notes on the palate/finish. Easy drinking with moderate acidity and low tannins.

Interesting wine. Very intense and fruity (blackberry, blackcurrant) at the end. Drink when young.

Smooth velvet texture with bright black cherry flavor. As gulpable as koolaid. Goes great with spicy food and is an awesome value wine.

(includes a bit of tempranillo; no oak): Inky purple. Aromas and flavors of blueberry, blackberry and bitter cherry are brightened by peppery spices. Concentrated and velvety in texture, with good finishing breadth and cling. Heftier and darker in profile than the Monte Oton, and an equally outstanding value. ** SOLD OUT **

Packed with juicy berry fruit, this lush, soft red hails from Campo de Borja, midway between Barcelona and Rioja. It is a very solid choice with barbecue, spicy sauces, and pizza.
