Classic and about as good as you get for a larger-production type of Rioja reserva. Butter, dill, coconut, earth and moss aromas are convincing, as is the palate of berry, fig and spice flavors. Rooty, toasty and complex, with style. Drink now throug... Wine Enthusiast. A Tempranillo wine from Rioja in Spain. 2006 Beronia, Bodegas Rioja Reserva 750ml

Tasting Notes:

The character of traditional Rioja depicts many more flavors from the cellaring than from the fruit: sawdusty and vanillin American oak barrels, damp earth, soft forest floor, and white mushrooms dominate over the ripe and underripe red cherries and plums that are most often the baseline fruit notes. Beronia’s 2006 is all that, but with American oak dialed back and snappy, juicy red fruits pushed forward.

The wine's distinctive Beronia Classic style balances the qualities of excellent fruit with careful barrel maturation. It is perfect with game and meat.
