Bodegas Beronia Tempranillo Blend Rioja Gran Reserva 1996

Winemaker's Notes:

Colour: cherry red with light ochre tones. A clean brilliant wine. Medium-to-high layer intensity. Bouquet: fine and elegant, with certain toasted aromas that develop with aeration towards balsamic, tobacco and sweet, fleshy fruit. Taste: vinous, but smooth and velvety, which fills the palate. Tasty. Structured, with tannic sensations, figs, honey and ripe fruit. Its exit is harmonious and persistent. In order to enjoy this wine, it should be consumed at a temperature of between 18 and 20ºC, with prior oxygenation, using a decanter or opening the bottle beforehand. It is the perfect accompaniment to red meats and game, together with cured cheeses and pâtés

They also produce a line of barrel aged single varietal wines, and are among the only producers who make a single variety Mazuelo. They are dedicated to the environment and in 2000 they were awarded with certification for their environmental management system.  Read less
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
