This 100% Garnacha exudes a smoky, earthy, rustic aroma. It's jammy beyond belief, like a rich plum cake and lashings of blueberry and blackberry preserve. With superb grip and power, this is a distinctive, hedonistic and vibrant wine, with a finish of minerals, stones, violets and attar of roses. Very good indeed. 15% abv, 93 points.

The 2005 Atteca Armas is sourced from a single Garnacha vineyard planted in 1909 at serious elevation. Malolactic fermentation occurs in new oak. The nose delivers spice box, toast, scorched earth, and black cherry. Large-scaled and full-flavored, this powerful effort conceals enough structure to support 3andndash;5 years of cellaring and should provide pleasure through 2025.

100% Garnacha from a single site planted in 1909. Bright ruby. Youthfully primary cherry and dark berry aromas open with aeration to display a spicy, floral quality. Cherry-vanilla and dark berries on the fleshy palate, which betrays no rough edges. Very pretty wine, with outstanding finishing clarity and length.
