Bodegas As Laxas Rias Baixas Albarino 2017

Winemaker's Notes:

Clear, brilliant wine, straw yellow colored with green nuances. An intense aroma on the nose, perfectly combining the fruity and floral notes, particularly apple and stoned fruit (apricot). Freshness on the palate typical of Albariño, with a touch of acidity perfectly balanced with the structure and body of this wine. Meaty, sweet with a glyceric finish.

Creamy almond and warm fleshy melon aromas with soft floral peach blossom notes and a bit of perfume. Tart citrus notes of lemon and grapefruit on the palate with medium plus acidity and a note of herbal citrus zest. Clean, light and approachable with good length on the finish.

Fresh pithy lime on the nose with a hint of salty sand and some emerging sweet green apple background notes round out the nose. Somewhat rich and downright silky on the palate. This offers good, very well-integrated acidity that supports rather subtle, lightly mineral flecked green apple and green orange flavors. The finish really firms up nicely with good mineral cut and fine length. This is a touch round and soft for my palate, but still manages to deliver a really fine experience. 89pts

A clean, bright wine, straw yellow in color with greenish tinges. An intense aroma on the nose, perfectly blending with the fruity and floral notes, highlighting apple and stone bearing fruit like apricot. Typical freshness of Albariño on the palate, with a highly fitting acidity perfectly balanced with the structure and body of the wine.

Pale greenish yellow color, with moderate aromas of jasmine flower, stone fruit, and tart green apples. This Albariño is dry, medium heavy bodied, with lively acidity, and long finish. On the palate are flavors of fresh green garden herbs, white nectarine, and granny smith apples. This Albariño is a little richer than others I have tried which might be because it is from the Condado do Tea which is the warmest sub region of Rías Baixas. A beautiful example of the Queen of Spanish white varietals. 3.5/5

THis is clearly a food wine. this ain't for sipping. Went poretty badlywith thai food, which is what albarino is supposed to go with...can't really see it going with anything else. maybe spicy seafood. weird aftertaste.
