Bodegas Adria Viña Barroca 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

A young Mencia from Bierzo this wine is a deep black-plum red. Utterly delicious, juicy, lovely red fruit (currants, pomegranate) with a touch of volatility that makes it good with food. Solid mineral underpining in the finish with notes of iron from the arcilloso soil on which the grapes are grown.

An official Gerry Dawes Selection from the Spanish Artisan Wine Group.

In the shadow of the grand old town of Villafranca, on the historical St. James Way stands Bodegas Adria, a driving force of wine-making steeped in tradition. With 25 hectares of vineyards and vines ranking from 8 to 20 years our grapes receive the tender care o a dedicated team with decades of experience and the guarantee of the prestigious Zarcillo award of 2003. In the holy silence of a cellar with more than 500 French and American oak barrels a delicious wine takes shape from the essence of our most exquisite varieties, Doña Blanca, Mencia, Godello, Tempranillo and Merlot. The result ia a wine with is sure to satisfy even the most demanding palates. Next door is the old bodega, founded at the beginning of the 40s by Francisco Perez Adriá, an enterprising gentleman from Valencia who simply fell in love with the region. Read less
