A joint effort between superstar Spanish winemaker Mariano Garcia (of Ribera del Duero`s Vega Sicilia) and Javier Zaccagnini (well-known businessman and former head of the Ribera del Duero appellation), Aalto promises to be THE new cult wine from Spain. The reviews are already coming in from Europe where Aalto is being mentioned in the same sentence as Pingus, Vega Sicilia, and Alion by the continental press. Most critics have only tasted the Aalto (there will also be a reserve selection), but the general feeling is, "If this is what the second wine tastes like, what on earth will the first one taste like?" To say that it is mouthfilling and highly concentrated would be an understatement.
