Santa Julia is a label offshoot of Familia Zuccardi wines from Mendoza, Argentina. The wine is named after Julia Zuccardi, daughter of chief winemaker José Alberto Zuccardi. The wines are organic (although not certified under US law) and handmade, with close attention to detail. This is an affordable range of dry and sparkling wines as well as a late harvest Torontes/Viognier blend called simply “Tardio.”
Nice tempranillo-- love that it is an organically produced wine. Very fruity on the nose-- LOTS of grape flavor, as in grape bubble-icous, as in too much. Still, decent for the price.
Solid, strong wine that actually goes well with pizza.
Hints of vanilla and tobacco with ripe black fruits, figs and plums. Ready to drink now.
