Bodega Renacer Malbec Blend Enamore 2010

This is a ripe, concentrated red, with nuances of cocoa, sweet spice and licorice accenting a core of jammy blackberry, raspberry and plum skin notes, which linger through the long, savory finish. Drink now.

The 2007 Enamore is a blend of 60% Malbec, 23% Cabernet Franc, and the balance Syrah, Bonarda, and Cabernet Sauvignon. It was sourced from own-rooted vines over 50 years of age and aged for 12 months in seasoned French oak. A glass-staining opaque purple, it offers up a fragrant perfume of cedar, spice box, lavender, damp earth, and black cherry. Opulent on the palate, it is dense and sweetly-fruited with complex black fruit flavors, plenty of spice, ripe tannin, and a lengthy finish. Cellar it for 2-3 years and drink it from 2011 to 2019.

A joint venture between the Renacer winery of Argentina and Chile and Allegrini from the Veneto in Italy. Thus it makes sense that this five-grape blend is done in the Amarone style, with concentrated, dried grapes. Aromas are generous, minty and floral, and the palate is jammy and concentrated. Rich and a little raisiny, just like Amarone.

Shows a sweet, dried fruit style, with raisin and date hints that stay fresh, thanks to layers of crushed currant and black cherry fruit. The long, velvety finish lingers with a dash of incense. Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Bonarda. Drink now through 2011.

Black plum, blackberry, lemon zest and licorice are the key aromas on this Amarone-patterned blend from Argentina. The palate is concentrated, rich and lush, with grabby, soft tannins and sweet flavors of blackberry, brown sugar and caramel. Toasty and mild on the finish, with jammy thickness.

Renacer's 2008 Enamore Allegrini & Renacer is a collaboration with the renowned Allegrini Winery in Italy's Veneto. It is a blend of 60% Malbec and 40% Bonarda made with dried grapes in the style of ripasso. The wine is just off-dry with only 8g residual sugar while offering up a slightly roasted, liqueur-like perfume along with plenty of spice and black fruit notes.. Smooth textured, rich, and plush on the palate, it is packed with flavor and is structured enough to drink for another 6-8 years. It is also an excellent value.
