Bodega O. Fournier Beta Crux 2008

Member Review by enotheque:

A really impressive blend that involves Tempranillo in the leading role. The berry and spice from the Malbec and Temp. really come through and the Syrah lends some body and grip. Smoke and spice from the oak maturation add a welcome extra dimension that isn't overwhelming. The slightly cooler Uco area turns out some great Tempranillo and some really distinctive Malbec. Delicious with roasted/grilled meats.

Acorn squash, pumpkin, and other fall vegetables are present in the nose, and the tempranillo brings a nice richness, if not much depth, to the mouth; a nice accompaniment to an unadorned steak. At 3,600 feet, could these be the highest tempranillo vines in the world? (AV 86, http://argovino.com/?p=397)
