Add your reviewMy Rating: 90 points. Very elegant body with well balanced fruit aromas, hint of bitter in the aftertaste. Nose is very long with no special characteristics to stick out, just nice!! Costco for 11 $ after 2 Dollars off.
I didn't drink from this bottle, but it received rave reviews from my wive and guests.
Vibrant dark purple color, gentle aroma of berries - taste filled with waves of blue/blackberries - followed a hint of spice aftertastes, decent tannic finish as well - a great value as one should be able to locate this wine for under $20
This amazing Argentinian wine was the piece de resistance of our 8 course asian fusion New's Eve dinner. I should mention that it was enjoyed, while juxtaposed with acceptable champagne.
Winemaker's Notes:
In 1885, the Buenos Aires to Mendoza railway opened, cementing the significance of this emerging wine-growing region high in the Andean foothills. Ten years later, Edmund Norton planted the first vines in Mendoza’s Luján de Cuyo district. At 900-1100 metres, the altitude moderates the temperature, causing an extended ripening season, and also expose the vines to more ultraviolet light, which encourages the development of colour and tannin in the black-skinned varieties. The result is whites packed with vibrant flavour and good natural acidity, and well-structured, food-friendly reds. The Reserva Malbec is an intesne red colour with purple hints. It is rounded and velvety, with notes of ripe black fruits, violets, pices and tobacco. It has a long and complex finish.
