Bodega Catena Zapata Chardonnay Alamos 2008
Very rich, oaky, nose. Very well priced. Green apple and mango fruits are dominated by the cinnamon spices and vanilla from the oak. Most certainly an oak lovers wine, but again, for this price its very good.Add winemaker's notes

I like the ripe-feeling texture of this wine, along with the balance and sense of life the wine shows in the mouth. However, as I found also in a recent tasting of the 2009 Alamos Malbec, the fruit intensity (banana, pear, apple, caramel) is relatively weak and unexciting. Pleasant enough, but nothing to go out of your way for.
A nice surprise. Oaky with rich flavors and citrus accents
Lots of fig character and definitely a different terroir than California. But a nice change from California and Washington Chardonnays. I haven't tasted much fig character in either until this one. Nice variation of Chardonnay, especially for the price.
Well made wine. Floral nose, creamy mouth feel, citrus and light spice and vanilla flavors, good crisp finish.
Three and a half glasses

Made at Catena Bodega Zapata, this Chardonnay exudes notes of tropical fruit, stone fruits and citrus with vanilla and spice on the creamy finish.
Mittleres Gelb, goldene Reflexe.
