What to Expect

Barbera is one of the classic Grapes of Italy's Piedmont region, though it is popular throughout much of Northwest Italy and has gained a following in California. Searing acidity has been a trait of Barbera though modern viticultural techniques and warmer regions have tamed the acidity, resulting in medium-bodied wines with bright, red fruit tones that feature hints of violets, earth and plum with just a whisper of tannin.

Very nice medium-bodied red wine for an Italian or steak dinner, especially a meal with a fruit element to it. Smooth, it goes down easy, with a short, but flavorful finish. Notes of currents and black pepper.
