Food Pairings for Blue Mountain Pinot Blanc
After enduring the frustration of a corked bottle, this wine finally comes through without a hitch. Canola oil yellow in colour with a nose of Granny Smith Apple, Bartlett Pear and a hint of cinnimon, the wine does not disappoint. Less extracted than previous vintages due, no doubt, in part to a cool growing season, there are some elements of fine apple cider and Calvados (heat). Very Chardonnay-like with a nice slightly unctuous viscosity and depth; no hollowness often associated with this wine mid-palate. Good medium finish. Very nice. 89-90 points.
