Blockheadia Ringnosii Sonoma County Zinfandel 2004
Aged 18 months in a mature combination of American and French oak. Sonoma County Wild berry fragrance. Forward flavors of baking spices and boysenberries lead to a taste of summer berries. This luscious berry mix is complimented by just the right tannin structure, allowing a long graceful finish. Perfect with mixed grill, moderately spicy sauces and pastas.
Dusty red berry fruit with dried herbs and flowers.m letting iff some interesting notes of canned meat as well, but only in passing. Shows nice age in the nose, almost like a southern Rhone wine with soeme bottle age. On the palate, dusty savory herbs along with some dried red berry. Flavors of briary red raspberry, strawberry, some cranberry along with white pepper, spice and earth. The fruit is fading, but still nice. Drink now to enjoy before it disappears. 4/10/12
Nice ripe berry nose with some spice. Rich, supple berry in great balance with spice and pepper, which is slight. Very tasty! - Blind tasted at Schreiner's Winers zin tasting 9/18/10
