The 2004 Frank Potts Proprietary Red is a blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Malbec, and 15% Petit Verdot. This cuvee spent 18 months in French and American wood, which is evident in the noticeable wood component. Nevertheless, it is an outstanding effort displaying notions of soy, vanillin, black currants, mint, and blackberries in its rich, full-bodied, tannic personality. It should last 10–12 years at a minimum.

displays pretty Cabernet fruit. Nice oak. Creditable wine.

Ripe, bordering on overripe, with dried cherry, plum, and dried currant flavors that remain firm and juicy against a layer of fine tannins on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Shiraz and others. Drink now through 2006.

Another exceptionally impressive effort, the 1999 Frank Potts Proprietary Red is a blend of five varietals dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (76%). An opaque purple color is followed by a medium to full-bodied wine with a spicy, oaky, black currant, tobacco, cedar, and licorice-scented bouquet. Like the Generations Shiraz Reserve, this dense, smoky, deep, concentrated red sees about 50% new oak. The Frank Potts cuveacute;e is already drinking well, but should age for 10ndash;12 years.
