Bleasdale Cabernet-Shiraz Blend Langhorne Creek Langhorne Crossing 2008
This 2008 Shiraz Cabernet blend spent 15 months on predominantly American oak before bottling. The result is a smooth easy drinking red with vibrant red berry aromas that complement the spicy notes which are apparent on the palate. The minimal use of French Oak gives the wine complexity and an elegant toastiness that integrates well with the juicy forest fruits characters.
Today's winery has the latest technology but still maintains the family traditions - the Pott's philosophy of producing honest, consistent, reliable wines, which are receiving accolades throughout the world.
This wine really surprised me as I'm not typically a fan of Aussie Cabernet. Bursts of blueberry and earthy saddle leather on the tongue and hints of blackberry and eucalyptus on the nose. There's a mature oak sensibility that provides structure throughout. Very nice!

Loaded with gobs of sweet black currant fruit, this has tremendous depth and length at a terrific price. Juicy and flavorful, yet maintaining the firm tannic structure classically associated with the grape. It always goes back to the concept that Cab is king, and when you get this quality at this price point, you jump all over it, no questions asked.
Excellent nose, almost perfumed, with aroma of spice, violets and blackcurrants, followed by hints of cedar, licorice, earth and cinnamon. The palate displays complexity with excellent toasted oak overtones. Flavors of blackcurrants, vanilla and spice, with cinnamon, earth and stewed fruit back palate. Excellent length and depth. Perfect balance, with very long aftertaste of cinnamon, oak and spice.
The French-styled 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Mulberry Tree exhibits a dark ruby/purple color along with aromas of sweet black currant fruit, licorice, leather, and a hint of oak in the background. Medium-bodied and nicely concentrated, it will drink well for 7-8 years.
Smooth and ripe, with generous blackberry and currant fruit shaded with refined tannins, lingering nicely. Drink now through 2012.
The outrageously good 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Mulberry Tree is a terrific bargain. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 12 months in a combination of French and American wood, is the kind of wine that makes consumers realize there is a lot of over-priced Cabernet in the marketplace. It boasts a deep ruby/purple color, an excellent texture, and notes of underbrush, black currants, tar, sweet cassis, and cedar. Full-bodied with light to moderate tannin, it can be drunk now or cellared for a decade.
Ripe, supple and remarkably generous with its sweet currant, black cherry and deftly minty aromas and flavors, which echo beautifully on the round finish. Drink now through 2007.
