Wine Tasting Notes The Blackstone Monterey County Riesling offers aromatic notes of fresh peach and pear as well as hints of honeyed apricot. These notes are lifted by a touch of natural acidity. The wine is soft and viscous in the mouth with fresh flavors of sweet fruit. Although this Riesling has a touch of residual sugar, the acid balance renders a soft, but dry sensation that will support pairings with baked ham and chicken roasted with herbs. The distinct forward aromatic and flavor characters will also match nicely with fresh fruit tarts or crisps when served as lighter desserts. Serve only lightly chilled.
Another winner for $12, this is for those who like their Rieslings decidedly off-dry. Huge apricot nose. Peach and apricot palate, lots of honeyed fruit. Best sipped on its own, or with spicy Asian food.
