Jammy on the nose, with plenty of black pepper but this smells of sweet black fruit and toasty marshmallow. Sweet and round on entry with bright acids lending this a slightly metallic feel. Simple on entry, with little follow through this is fairly well made if not very distinctive. 78pts
This smells rather light with a nice jammy blackberry tone and sweet cinnamon sugar top notes with a suggestion of dark flowers. This is quite acidic in the mouth, searingly so with a chemical quality to the acid that is off putting. The nice fruit is hiding behind the acid and it’s accompanying raw pine resin, cleaning solution tones. The finish still shows some of this balsamic resin, but with a nice red currant fruit tone as well. This is modestly spicy and the chemical tone does blow off but the acid is just out of whack. 82pts
Its like someone put butter, berries, and pepper in a blender. Very buttery red, but not unpleasant.
I'm coming from the world of rating beer, so this is a little different. Dark fruit, astringent, and not all together pleasant experience. Nice value, but I'll pass for now.
The Black Swan Shiraz (2010) becomes more enjoyable with some air. I like Australian Shiraz in general and this wine offers nice flavors with some complexity. I think it is a pretty good bargain at $6.99. 87pts
This wine is pretty bad, but definitely worth the cost for the mini bottles! The 2010 Black Swan Shiraz tastes like cheap red wine - artificially sweet, acidic, and bitter with no depth and a harsh but thankfully brief finish that leaves you wincing. However, the 187.5ml bottles are great for storing leftover wine and are easily worth $10 for a four pack.
Fruity on the nose, astringent and acidy in the mouth and a real acidy aftertaste.
Even better of what I had expected. I wanted to try a Shiraz and it was a really good choice. Tasty, rich in flavor, kind of sweet in the beginning but it quickly fades and leaves the wine in the mouth. Really enjoyed it, I will surely get one bottle for my reserve!

Very dark, almost purple color, with a nice medium body. Bold flavors of black cherry and dark berries, with the classic notes of pepper and spice. Soft tannins.
This smooth red is appealing for its ripe cherry and blueberry fruit, finishing with suppleness. Drink now through 2013.
