Black Opal Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
The Black Opal Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 is a wine of great finesse and character, highlighting the very best of full-flavored Australian red wine. The rich aromas of blackcurrant, mint and spice on the nose carry through as flavors in a balanced palate offering fruit flavor, subtle oak and soft, well-integrated tannins. This is a classic Australian red wine made from the world's most noble red variety.
I found Black Opal Cabernet Sauvignon to be nicely balanced between the sweetness and tannins (broad enough description?). I indeed could taste the black currant, spice, and maybe a hint of cranberry?
great for the price! enjoy
This is a wonderful wine for the price point. I sensed cherry and pepper flavors. One of the best finishes of any wine I've tried. Love it!
External Reviews for Black Opal Cabernet Sauvignon
This is typically Australian in its rich, outgoing fruit. The density and concentration are all based around great black-fruit flavors, which give strength and power to the wine. Delicious, soft tannins underpin it, but hardly affect the ripeness of the fruit.
The rich varietal blackcurrant, mint and spice nose is well supported by a palate that is full of fruit flavor, balanced by the subtle use of oak. The wine is warm in the mouth and the tannins are soft and well integrated. This is a classic Australian red wine made from the world's most noble red variety.
Bright and juicy, with black cherry and herb flavors on a lively frame. Drink now.
An easily likable, unpretentious Cabernet meant for everyday enjoyment, displaying spicy berry and black currant flavors backed by light tannins.
The nose starts out with bacon and toast. the palate is loaded with cranberry and cherry fruit, but that doesn't mean it's lean and mean. Quite the contrary; it's round and spicy, with some Zin-like character to the flavor profile.
