The Syrah from this producer have always been points of great pleasure and this example is no different. A blend of two clones, 383 and 470, from diverse topography at Stagecoach, the 1,220 case production was co-fermented with about 3% Viognier. Few Napa Valley Syrah are as consistently appealing as these. This is the highest scoring Syrah yet from Black Bart. A dense, smoky, bacon-laced nose. The palate is robust and richly smooth showing copious violet, blackberry, cassis and cherry with hints of cinnamon, espresso, and ground pepper. The overall feel is one of excellent concentration and balance.

I had this at K&L last week and it was so good. It has awesome balance with a quiet subtleness. If you can find it you should get it. The only thing lacking in this wine is that it doesn't have great structure so you have to drink within a year.
