Bird In Hand Pinot Noir Adelaide Hills Sparkling 2011
RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
I purchased this wine in British Columbia for $34 CDN and I feel like this wine represents a really good value. A lovely crisp, refreshing dry rose wine with a fine bead. Smells of strawberry + slightly herbaceous (strawberry fields) and a slight yeasty character. Strawberry and cherry on the palate with lovely acidity. Not as simple and sweet as I would expect from a new world sparkling - some complexity and acid supporting a simple and refreshing wine that's not too sweet. I really loved this one.
