Looking at my sparse wine rack for a red to go with our steak tonight. This has been there awhile ~ honestly because I've never had one so I don't know what to expect. And, the top on the bottle is neither cork nor screw cap. I don't know what it's called, but it's more like a beer bottle cap. I never judge a wine by it's top anyway, so this part doesn't bother me. We open it up. It smells a little bit smoky, some cherry. Really just makes me want to taste it, it smelled so inviting. So, I taste ~ so good, OMG. It's an incredibly smooth easy-drinker. A little sour cherry, slightly acidic. Do I get mint at the end? Not quite, but it's leaning toward it. So, it's an Austrian wine, but I'm thinking it would pair nicely with Italian food. I'm sure it'll go great with my steak dinner tonight. Looking forward to it!
