The Billecart-Salmon House is the embodiment of these rare family businesses who have constantly strived to build the legend of Champagne. The family's independence has helped them to maintain a sense of continuity in the concoction of their champagnes with as their watchwords: finesse, balance and elegance. Each generation has endeavoured to propel the art of wine-growing into modern world, while remaining firmly rooted in almost two centuries experience.

Fine bubbles are the trademark of this great Champagne house and their Brut Reserve cuvee is no exception. The nose has a biscuity style with exotic fruits and hints of white flowers. The palate presents a good structured Champagne lifter as it should by the fine bubbles. Aromas of bread and biscuit are in the front with a sweet background. The acidity is well integrated. The finish is soft and mineral yet rich enough to last. I have tried this Champagne many times with food and the best match I have experienced will be with sushi and sashimis. Really worth the treat! "Pale, orange-tinged pink. Vibrant, spicy aromas of orange peel, ruby-red grapefruit and floral honey. Focused and pure, with juicy orange and tangy rhubarb flavors and a lush, velvety texture. This is weightier than previous bottlings of this cuvee, but has the usual precision and lift expected by long-time fans of this rose. Finishes with juicy citrus flavors and a late mineral jolt." Aromatic and spicy, with cedar, honey and ginger notes matching a firm structure and lean, intense character. Fine length.

The tiny mousse tells a lot about the quality of this impressive Champagne. It is quite full in style, with flavors of white currants and a rich, but still bone-dry aftertaste. It is a perfect food Champagne, with structure and a good tension between richness and elegance.

The NV Brut Reserve is a beautiful wine graced with layers of exquisite, mineral laced citrus, pears and white peaches. I suppose this could use a little more length through the mid-palate, but it is nevertheless a strikingly beautiful, pure wine at this price point.

The ripe black cherry, strawberry and damson plum fruit flavors offer an enticing profile in this seamlessly integrated rosé. Mouthwatering acidity and a mineral undertow mesh with hints of fruit cake, smoke and spice. Drink now through 2020.

A dry rosé, freshly tasting of red currant fruits, laced with beautifully refreshing acidity. The wine has some weight, but it has more of an elegant, dancing lightness.

This is a finely balanced non-vintage Brut. It has great swathes of yellow fruit and crisp lime flavor that lend a stylish freshness. Already showing some touches of toast and bottle age, this is a ready-to-drink wine.
