oak followed by a light fining or a filtration but never both with the bottling done by the Domaine. Philippe reports his 99 yields as around 45 hl/ha with the cleanest crop he's ever seen. He claims he didn't see even one rotten grape. The crop chez Billard came in with normal sugar levels with slightly higher than normal pHs. These wines were tasted in February and as the scores reflect, they are worth a special search to find. Note: from vines planted in 1950 Quite dark and even bigger and more intense than the Chaponnières with superb black fruit, beautifully precise flavors that ooze grand cru weight and power plus a finish that delivers wave after wave of mouth watering pinot sap, all the while maintaining perfect balance. Very impressive juice.
