What to Expect

Pinot Grigio is one of the world's most popular wines. Also known under the French moniker "Pinot Gris", and even the German "Ruländer" among others, Pinot Grigio is a chameleon of a grape. It is produced in a range of styles, from the light fruity Italian style that has gained popularity, to a more mineral, flinty rich wine favored by the French - particularly in Alsace - and emulated by many in the new world.

A nice note of almond milk greets the nose followed by a grassy, dandelion note that is more wildflower than green grass. In the mouth there is almost a hint of minerally tannin here with decent acids supporting a round but well balanced mouth feel with nice kiwi fruit and a minty top note that leads to a clean, spicy finish of decent length. 86pts

Peaches, pears and apples mix to create an aroma not unlike an Ocean Spray juice cocktail might smell. There's a bit of spice, some more juice-like fruit flavors adding a hint of apparent sweetness, and some alcoholic heat on the finish which could stand some smoothing out.

Interesting rotten nose with floral notes, good balance with glycerol and acids. Decent for the price.
