Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Tasting Notes The Reagan yearsduring which the Vin Gris de Cigare was introduceddo not, in hindsight, seem to be a likely period in which to inaugurate a sophisticated, sensitive, pink-tinted wine founded with foreign-sounding varieties. We tempt fate again with Big House Pink, hardly an international terroirist, but an affront none the less to those that would have us drinking strictly red and white (and the occasional blaufrnkisch), preferably derived from freedom-loving American grapes like zinfandel or, better yet, chancellor. Big House Pink is, and will likely continue to be a blend of divers Italianate varieties including sangiovese, zinfandel, barbera, refosco, pinot blanc, and too many others to mention. Where as Vin Gris de Cigare exhibits spicy, creamy and botanical accents on top of its fruitful core, BHP is a more unabashed study in cranberry, watermelon and strawberry guava.Tart, crisp and almost luridly art deco, one can imagine it taking up residence at the finest and most pastelhued tables of South Beach or Key West.
