Big Basin Rattlesnake Rock Syrah Santa Cruz California Usa 2007

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Very dark black red violet color; lovely, focused, lifted, tart roasted plum, mineral, charcoal, dried black fruit nose; tasty, tight but poised, tart black fruit, roasted black fruit, tar, dried black fig, light black pepper palate; needs 1-2 years and should go 25-plus; long finish (they started extended macerations on the Syrah this vintage) 94 points

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
