Biblia Chora Sauvignon Blanc

Winemaker's Notes:

The cool north of Greece close to Kavala is perfect for growing Sauvignon Blanc and Assyrtiko. Biblia Chora's 150ha of vines are planted on flinty soil at an altitude of 350m on south facing slopes. It's short distance from the sea brings a maritime influence to the vineyards. The grapes are hand picked and fermented in stainless steel tanks, no fining or filtration was performed. Vintage: 2007 Grapes: 60% Sauvignon blanc and 40% Assyrtiko Region: Kavala, Greece Notes: Super fresh, a typical Sauvignon nose, with a hint of nettle and lashings of gooseberry and passionfruit. This wine has seen no oak, it's beautifully fresh and has more complexity and concentration than most New Zealand wines. The native Greek variety, Assyrtiko, has imparted citrus aromas and bone-dry minerality to the blend, and its very tasty. Serve: A great accompaniment to oysters, seafood, salads and grilled vegetables ABV: 12.5%
