Food Pairings for Bibi Graetz Casamatta Red Toscana
Very light and fruity, seemed more like a Beaujolais rather than a sangiovese, but it's a nice light sipping wine.
[Metro] Tried again. And again unremarkable
[Unpaired] nice sipping wine, balanced, chewy, but unremarkble; most notably decanted for 2 days (because I forgot to throw it out) held up very well even on the third day.
External Reviews for Bibi Graetz Casamatta Red Toscana
The 2011 Casamatta Rosso is an attractive, juicy wine bursting with sweet red berries, flowers, licorice, mint and spices. It shows lovely body and depth in a fresh, vinous style best suited for near-term drinking. Aging should not be a problem, as I imagine most bottles will be long gone by the time that is an issue. The Casamatta Rosso is a terrific value, too. Anticipated maturity: 2012andndash;2014.
Notes of blackberry and black cherry are accented by tobacco and spice in this concentrated red, which is fresh and lively, with a firm finish. Drink now through 2014.
A beautiful label for a beautiful Sangiovese that wont break your bank. What more can you ask for?
This is an ultra-approachable Vermentino adding pretty floral notes on the nose. It's fresh, vibrant white wine, perfect for summer weather.
When we first tasted this delightful, unoaked Sangiovese, we found it ripe, earthy, and fruity in all the right places. Bibi Graetz has garnered much international acclaim, and we're beginning to understand why.
It's hard to find a better value in Tuscany than Graetz's 2008 Casamatta Rosso. This medium-bodied, juicy red offers plenty of dark red fruit in an accessible style underpinned with a bright accent of acidity. The Casamatta Rosso would make a great house red. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2011.
Sweet raspberry jam aromas lead to medium-to-full body, with delicate tannins and a fruity, tangy aftertaste. Sangiovese. Drink now.
90 points Wine Spectator: Notes of blackberry and black cherry are accented by tobacco and spice in this concentrated red, which is fresh and lively, with a firm finish. Drink now through 2014. (10/15/12)
