Biale Zinfandel Napa Black Chicken 2012
Finally I get to taste Biale Zin. Thanks for the pour Mr. Dave Pramuk.! Legendary meeting. 1st Class. Black Chicken Ranch and Monte Rosso USA Zinfandel.
super peppery. a little too much spice for peppercorn steak. maybe try with lightly peppered steak. intense! enjoyed at el gaucho in bellevue wa
Three and a half glasses
Sexy palate, not overly peppery or jammy. Blackberry and black pepper aromas greet you. Layered plum, licorice and roasted sage on the palate. Loamy tannin. - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 9/18/10

Good dark red. Aromas of blackberry, licorice pastille and orange peel are lifted by a floral topnote. Smooth and fine-grained on entry, then creamy and concentrated in the middle, with good peppery energy to the dark berry and spice flavors. Richer and darker than the 2011 version, delivering much more stuffing at a similar level of alcohol. Finishes with sweet tannins and very good length.
Rich, dense and jammy, with aromas of cherry pie and spice. The ripe, layered blackberry flavors show accents of smoky caramel, sage and licorice. For fans of big wines. Drink now through 2018.
Spicy in black plum and berry fruit, Black Chicken is a consistent blockbuster for Biale, alive and fresh in waves of exotic cinnamon and clove. Built to age 2020–2022, it’ll satisfy in complex black tea and savory toasty oak, an easy wine to love. The grapes are sourced from the winery’s estate sites within the Oak Knoll District, where it’s based.
Plump, juicy, and firm, this is one irresistible bird- a Zinfandel brimming with fruit, spices, and an Oak Knoll District perfume of concentrated blackberry compote, bright raspberries, clove, five spice, black tea, toasted brioche, and notes of caramel and vanilla. Voluptuous, gentle, and yummy as it is, this freshly-bottled wonder has the stuffing for the long haul and is just getting started. The 2012 Black Chicken-if cellared well-will continue to improve for the next 5-8 years and likely well beyond. - WineryWinemaking:The fruit was hand-sorted first in the field then again at the winery. A Zinfandel wine from California in USA. 2010 Robert Biale Vineyards Zinfandel Black Chicken Vineyard 750ml
Ruby-red. Superripe aromas of raspberry liqueur, smoked meat, spices, espresso and flowers; slightly roasted suggestion of late-picked fruit. Rich, chewy and high-toned, with a sappy quality and plenty of acidity to the intense raspberry liqueur flavor. Obviously high in alcohol, but creamy, concentrated and quite long. Strong tannins are buffered by sheer sweetness of fruit. Fans of big, bold zinfandels will not feel cheated by this one.
