I agree with Wine.com's review. The bouquet was very rich full of dried fruit and spices. It reminded me of a berry fruitcake! The best part was how full and smooth this wine was in the mouth. Nice finish. This was a unique experience to taste something so bold yet so smooth!

Amarone 2000 - Wine Skinny/ Bertani's wines are rich with heritage and show obvious pride in local tradition. These wines taste like no others - you know you are drinking Amarone and wines from the Veneto region when you taste Bertani's wines. Smoky cedar laces black plum and dried cherry fruit, with an earthy note that emerges on the moderate, spicy finish.

/ For those chilly nights, a Bertani Amarone will be just what the wine doctor ordered.

Amarone 2000 - Wine Investors Buyer's Guide/ An aroma of fresh berries emerges. The palate delivers a blast of cranberries, cocoa and vanilla. The texture is chewy and rustic.

Best Wines Tasted in 2005/ A mixture of Corvina Veronese, Rondinella and Molinara. A powerful red wine, made from partially dried grapes to concentrate the color and aromas. Rich, smooth and wonderfully mouth filling with aromas of ripe red fruits. It has an alluring raisiny flavor, which adds an almost port-like taste. Ready to drink now, could improve for the next 4 to 6 years.

Cellar Dweller - The Oenophile's Giving Guide - 1997/ Wine can make a great present, no matter if the recipient is a buff or a novice. Here are some choices for every palate. For drinkers who deserve more because they always give you thoughtful gifts: 1968 and 1973 Bertani Amarone: This excellent winery offers both bottles in an attractive wooden gift box. Amarone ages wonderfully, so these wines will delight anyone with a wine cellar.

Amarone 2000 - 90 Points, Wine Advocate/ The 2000 Amarone (70% Corvina, 25% Rondinella, 5% Molinara) is big, rich and sexy in the way it combines fresh, vibrant rose petals, red cherries and spices with a firm, structured personality. Although it is not especially generous in its fruit, it does offer notable poise in a powerful, muscular style. Anticipated maturity: 2007 - 2012.

Amarone 2001/ The 2001 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a joyous wine to taste . It offers superb overall balance and an irresistible, caressing texture on the palate. The perfumed red cherry fruit is remarkably fresh for a wine of this age and the plumpness balances the wine's tannins with notable elegance.
