Bernardus Winery Chardonnay Napa Valley 2009
Our 2009 is a beautiful expression of Monterey Chardonnay exhibiting aromas of ripe tropical fruits with notes of honeysuckle, caramel apple and a hint of vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and creamy displaying ripe fruit flavors balanced by a crisp acidity and a beautifully focused finish.
The focus of Bernardus is to create wines that flatter the palate and stimulate the imagination. Our Marinus Estate Bordeaux-style red wine is the centerpiece of Ben Pon's dream. It is complemented by Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc from cool coastal climate vineyards. We also offer limited bottlings of small production and vineyard designate wines, which are available exclusively through the tasting room and wine club...taste a dream.

WS 89 Pts - According to Wine Spectator - This young, pithy wine shows good intensity, focus and purity of flavors build around citrus, green apple and honeydew melon, with light cedary notes. Elegant finish. Tasting Notes - The fruit for this wine comes mostly from vineyards in Arroyo Seco and the Santa Lucia Highlands, including Rosella's and Ventana, as well as two in Monterey. 90% of the fruit is fermented in small French oak barrels and undergoes complete malolactic fermentation, while the remainder is done in stainless. The resulting wine is a decidedly rich Chardonnay, with tropical fruit and exotic spice with a burst of acidity to balance out the creamy texture.
