Bernard Morey related that 2003 was a tough vintage, saying that we had frost, hail and serious heat. The frost cost us a lot of quantity and the hail frankly was almost as bad. Making the wines was a bit like cooking, where you have to play with just the right combination of salt and pepper. We acidified but it was essentially the same thing because each wine was different and we had to adjust accordingly. The wines were bottled in August. (Louis Dressner Selections, New York, NY and Vineyard Brands, Birmingham, AL; Domaine Direct, Richards Walford, H.&H. Bancroft and Berkmann Wine Cellars, all UK). read more...
