"This Syrah is a full-bodied wine that is lush and ripe, with a lingering finish. I'm particularly pleased with how supple and elegant the wine is, while still being satisfyingly big in flavor and style." ~Mary Sullivan Winemaker, Beringer Third Century

Toasty oak tones of mocha and vanilla integrate nicely with black currant and plum flavors. Excellent value. Drink now through 2005.

This Shiraz is both drinkable and complex, with deliciously intense fruit as well as a fair amount of nuance. Blackberry, black currant and berry flavors lead to deep black cherry notes. Cocoa and spice linger in a finish that is deliciously persistent. This wine beautifully complements grilled chicken or rack of lamb.

Blackberry, cinnamon and sweet cream aromas give Beringer's bouquet a fresh-out-of-the-oven pie smell. This soft, supple Shiraz has juicy berry fruit, black chocolate and vanilla flavors and a clean, tart berry fruit and mineral finish. An easy-to-drink crowd-pleaser.

Beringer's talented winemaker Laurie Hook concentrates on the Syrah variety's plum and blackberry flavors, rather than its more aggressively spicy notes, for this full-bodied red. -Ray Isle From Best American Wines $15 & Under: Syrah & Petite Sirah...
