The wine was good but didn't seem very complex to me. got a slight floral sent upon opening but not much else. as for the taste it had hints of strawberry, orange and what i can only describe as cranberry's. I did like the acidity that the wine had as it gave a nice little tingle. In the end its a nice simple wine for about $5 that you could bring to the family get together or a summer BBQ. I would also recommend it to someone who doesn't like the darker wines.

This is a juicy wine with generous flavors of black cherry preserves, dark plum and sweet anise. Notes of cocoa and mocha mingle with the fruit on the palate, while round tannins coat the mouth and leave a long and lasting impression. A classic Napa Valley Merlot that promises at least five to seven years of enjoyment. - Winery

Beringer Napa Valley Merlot is a quintessential expression of this beautiful varietal and the depth of flavors it can exhibit. This is an aromatic, inviting wine from the start. This wine is brimming with plum, blackberry and sweet vanilla aromas. The flavors are equally rich black cherry, bittersweet chocolate and a hint of smoke. The tannins are dense, and the finish is supple despite the heft and complexity of the wine overall.

Ripe plum and currant flavors are immediately evident in the aromas and flavors of the California Collection Merlot. A sweet, toasty note of oak rounds out the blend and gives the wine a nice body and mouthfeel. Approachable and delicious from the first sip, this wine is an everyday indulgence. - Winery

The Beringer Founders' Estate Merlot is approachable and delicious. Hints of plum and brown spice on the nose compliment the boysenberry, blackberry and blueberry finish on the palate. It's well-balanced, soft tannins make this wine a perfect accompaniment to a variety of foods, such as grilled meats or hearty vegetable dishes. - Winery
