User Reviews for Beringer Vineyards Merlot Howell Mountain Bancroft Ranch
Add your reviewThis wine has a great flavor like cherry and smooth, this is more for a person that enjoys not too dry wines like a Pinot or a Malbec but that's a whole other genre of wines. Very Colorfull with a deep red in tone. It is a little oily not too much ( I personally like this) More flavor a not too much alcohol taste like. I only had one in hand the we opened I wish I had at leat two more of the same for my gests.
This a semi-sweet wine with a dry feel (paradoxical, I know). Fruity flavor, you can taste the grape. I usually drink only very dry wines (Chardonnay, Red Zin, Merlot, Chianti). Not much on the sweeter ones. The wife bought it because it was on sale. This wine is very pleasant to the palate. I do recommend it : ) Oh, and this is the 2009 white merlot I've got, not the '08.
The wine was good but didn't seem very complex to me. got a slight floral sent upon opening but not much else. as for the taste it had hints of strawberry, orange and what i can only describe as cranberry's. I did like the acidity that the wine had as it gave a nice little tingle. In the end its a nice simple wine for about $5 that you could bring to the family get together or a summer BBQ. I would also recommend it to someone who doesn't like the darker wines.
first time trying this wine. loved it. very mild taste, doesn't have the bitter flavor some wines have. will be the wine i buy from now on.

To achieve the perfect color in their White Merlot, Beringer's winemaking team gently destems and presses the Merlot grapes, leaving the red skins in contact with the juice for approximately three hours. As soon as the desired soft, red-purple hue is achieved, the juice is removed. Slow, cool fermentations follow to retain the bright acidity, fresh melon and citrus flavors. The resulting wine is a vibrant blend of fresh berry and zesty orange peel flavors, with a hint of nutmeg spice. - Winery
This wine has a plush structure and bright red fruit and vanilla/spice aromas, and black cherry and sweet black plum flavors, along with the density and volume of the palate, make this wine eminently drinkable.

The fruit in this wine is concentrated but wonderfully balanced and absolutely delicious. It presents itself in the initial aromas, full of ripe cherry and black stone fruit in the nose. The flavors are full of pure, clean fruit as well plum, blueberry and blackberry are all enhanced by warm, brown spices that linger into the finish. Perfect as a pre-dinner aperitif, as well as an ideal match for a variety of rich autumn dishes.
