A tight nose of green peppers which slowly opens up to reveal some fruits. More green pepper in the mouth. Good acidity. A bit thin throughout. Decent finish, with some licorice notes.
Had it the other day, it has aged quite well, gaining smoothness and depth, especially with a few minutes out of the bottle.
A must try. Different. Tastes of licorice and herbs. At first I didn't like it. It is not what I usually think of in a cab. But its taste grows on me with every sip. Beringer describes the taste as dark berries, I believe. I find this description to be accurate. Its spicy finish makes it a nice change of pace. It is dark. It is mysterious. It is worth having a few bottles around for variety's sake. I must try it with a meal rich in herbs.
Three and a half glasses
