- Although 1998 was considered a lighter vintage, I think our strategy of waiting to harvest worked well in the end. It was labor intensive to taste and re-taste the fruit in the vineyards and we had to be very selective, in many cases picking small parcels and returning several times as others matured. Ultimately, the 1998 Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon turned out to have nice rich color, a wonderful nose of dark fruits with pretty oak and delicious, extracted red fruit flavors with black fruits in the background. The mouthfeel has a nice grip that helps the flavors linger into a long finish. -Ed Sbragia, Winemaster
