External Reviews for Beringer Vineyards Beringer Napa Valley Vineyards Chardonnay
Bright, light yellow. Soft citrus, lemon and yellow peach aromas and flavors are complicated by spicy oak. Nicely rich, pliant and fruit-driven, with a touch of sweetness and an almost glyceral mouth feel. Sexy oak spices complement but do not overwhelm the smooth, varietally expressive chardonnay fruit. Finishes smooth and persistent. Admirable entry-level chardonnay, and an excellent value.
Flavors of ripe citrus and apple are accented by aromas of toffee, tangerines and orange blossom. The mouth-coating, round texture highlights the rich flavors, all balanced by bright, refreshing notes that linger into the finish.
A solid effort, with direct green apple, pear, spice and light floral and herbal touches, ending with a clean, refreshing finish. Drink now through 2016.
Beringer’s 2011 Chardonnay impresses for its balance and harmony. Another wine that punches above its weight, the Chardonnay is laced with bright citrus and floral notes, all in a focused, vibrant style that is incredibly appealing. The partial malo style gives the wine plenty of depth, while not overwhelming the sheer vibrancy of the aromas and flavors. This is another terrific value. Anticipated maturity: 2012–2014.
